Queen of flat pack

Today we had a day at home where we did not have to go anywhere or do anything (well plenty of housework and ironing but that can wait) so we just chilled out all day in the lovely hot sunshine that England is blessed with at the moment.

The boys had a nap this afternoon so Daisy and I decided to put our new BBQ together. Tim is not really a fan of BBQ's having not grown up with them and only really experienced burnt food but he is coming round other than the comment when I told him I was going to buy a nice new one he replied 'why would you do that, you have a perfectly good oven in the kitchen'. Anyway I went out and splashed out on a new charcoal one with a cover so hopefully we will have it for years to come. After I put together the thousands of bits (well it seemed like it) that came in the box with a picture of the BBQ thankfully after half an hour I had managed to make one identicle to the one on the box, what a result!

The boys were still sleeping so Daisy played in the paddling pool whilst I decided to put together the bathroom cabinet we have recently brought, ready for the when the bathroom is finished. Even if I say so myself I do have a skill when it comes to flat packed furniture. I seem to be able to put it together, exactly how it should be in less time than it says on the instructions and more ofter and not still have nuts and bolts left over!!!

After all that putting together Daisy and I got the bbq dinner ready and the boys woke up in time for dinner and more fun in the paddling pool. Even though Daddy moans about BBQ's he did manage to eat the fresh tuna steak, lamb and baked bananas with chocolate that we cooked!!!

It is now 7pm and the little people are sitting on the sofa with their milk watching bedtime stories, they look so cute together. Anyway must put them to bed and clear out the bathroom ready for tomorrow.... urrr a week of mess as we are having stuff done in the kitchen also, we are finally losing our two features in the kitchen - our hole in the ceiling and mouldy wall.

Daisy relaxing in the shade as she told me it was too hot to keep on helping

Daisy took this as I was putting the finishing touches to the BBQ, honestly it did not come ready made
