A wiggie moment in the week!

Father Christmas no 1

The little people were whisked off for the day by Aunty Jo and Uncle Murphy or Aunty Murphy as Sam likes to call him.

They took them to Poultons Park in Hampshire, a theme park and they currenly have a Christmas wonderland. The little people were returned home late afternoon shattered but very excited about their day. They both received great presents from the big man himself, Father Christmas.

Sam wasnt that interested in telling me about his day when he got in but having a cuddle at bed time I couldnt stop him from talking, he was so excited that he saw dinosaurs and Father Christmas, that he had been on a boat and eaten sausages and that Aunty Murphy loves going really fast! Daisy's favourite part of the day was when she went on the roller coaster with Uncle Murphy and they put their arms up. She thinks Murphy is really cool cos he likes fast rides and that the park is the best one in the whole wide world (her exact words whilst sitting next to me whilst watching Strictly Come Dancing)

A huge THANK YOU to Jo and Murphy for giving the little people such a fantastic day out. They are very lucky to have such a great aunty and uncle.

Life isnt fair sometimes...

Today sadly Tim and I went to his best friend's wife's funeral. Hayley had been poorly for a few years and her and Justin had spilt up in July but it didnt make it any easier. It was horrible going to a funeral for such a young person, she was 40 and to see her 15 year old daughter have to go through what she did today. Lots of people turned out and it was a lovely celebration of her life.

Happy Birthday Grandad & Uncle Keith

It's been a busy one. First stop was Nanny Anne's and Grandad's for brunch, then off to see Grandad play his violin in a concert in Seaford. We then said goodbye to the little people as they were staying at Nanny and Grandad's for the night as we had Keith's 50th birthday party. We still had our costumes to get so we popped in to see a neighbour to see if they had anything we could borrow and scored some wigs, we then headed off to the fancy dress shop where we were meant to be on a budget and only buying accessories but ended up getting outfits!

It was nice but freezeing evening. Debby did a great job with the 70's theme and we had a chop van rock up with the food which was nice. After some crazy dancing we left just after midnight.

Quite scary that with such little effort how much my brother David looks like Freddie!

Big day in the Parker house...

Daisy's first tooth fell out today.

It has been wobbly for weeks and finally decided to fall out just as she was walking into her class room and thankfully I saw it fall out. We wrapped the tooth in a tissue and Daisy went round her classroom proudly showing everyone her new gap! There was also great excitment that the tooth fairy would be visiting this evening.

We had friends for dinner tonight so as soon as Daisy was asleep (before our guests arrived) I sprinkled some fairy dust, turned into the tooth fairy and swapped the tooth under her pillow for a shiny £1 coin. In the rush of things I didnt mention to Tim that I had done this. We had a lovely fun evening and went to bed about midnight. Daisy woke up around 3am and came into our room very excited that she the tooth fairy had been and can you believe it had left £1. As it was 3am I wasnt at my most talkative so told her to get in for a cuddle and go to sleep.

Daddy awoke around 6.30am, saw Daisy in our bed and then had a thought that we had forgotten the tooth fairy so he put 50p under her pillow in her room. When Daisy woke up she took Daddy into her room to show him the tooth fairy had been and when she lifted her pillow she nearly fell over as Guess What, they had been again. The tooth fairies in the Parker household really must communicate as these teeth falling out could turn into an expensive business.

Daddy and I went to the O2 arena in London to see...

Boyence whilst the little people stayed at home with Nanny Maureen and watched Mary Poppins. Boyence was fantastic, Kenya West and JJ Z also made special guest appearences. It was a great night and free as Tim got the tickets from one of his clients from work.

So what have we been up to in the past week...

• Samuel went to his first build a bear party - I wouldnt say it was the best party for 3 and 4 year old boys. Do they want to sit, play and talk to a stuffed bear- no, would they rather run round the shop wanting to play with the machine that puts the fluff in bears - yes!
• Daisy went to a school friends party and showed off her best dance moves.
• Our car failed it's MOT and cost hundreds of ££££ to fix and it took four days!
• Adding to point 3 we have had more rain in the past three days than in the past couple of months. Will it ever stop? On the 10 o'clock news the South Coast is now on flood alert.
• Cuddled up on the sofa with my little lady watching a film, she told me I was a really cool mum! I don't think life gets any better.
• Samuel walked to playgroup in the pouring rain today and jumped in every puddle. The walk took 10 minutes longer than normal and he arrived soaked but very happy at playgroup.
• Daisy and I went swimming to practice some of the things she learns during her Monday swimming lesson.
• We had tea at Nanny Maureen's.
• Myself and the little people soaked in a nice deep warm bubble bath together.
• We had some very sad news, Daddy's has a very dear friend Justin and his wife died on Tuesday so Daddy has been spending time with Justin in London.
• Samuel rode the train with Grandad at Paradise Park.
• Mummy held a 'Sex in the City' themed dinner party for some of the mum's from school.
• Mummy has been poorly with a cold.

Our little people are growing up so fast, it is lovely to see them developing but so sad that they are not babies anymore (although they will always be my babies). I have always wanted four children but Tim feels he is happy with his lot which I respect. Last night I was feeling under the weather and just wanted some time alone relaxing in the bath. As I sunk under the lovely hot bubbles, a little man (Samuel) came charging into the bathroom asking if he could get in and I looked at his little face and thought in a few years time sharing a bath with his mummy will be the last thing he will want to do so I let him jump straight in. After lots of giggles (and splashing) he got out and the little lady got in for 'some girly time' as she calls it.

When I was putting Samuel's pj's on he asked if I was still poorly and I replied yes. So he said that one of his cuddles would make me better. He gave me a cuddle and asked if I ws better - what could I say. Our little fella really is a caring chap, this morning I gave him my umbrella so he didnt get too wet as we left the house he asked where my umbrella was and when I said I didnt have one, he said "have this one, I dont want you getting wet."

Daisy's cutie was when we went swimming, I wore my flip flops round the pool and when we were in the shower afterwards, Daisy asked me "wow mum, where did you learn to swim with your flip flops on." See how clever I am.

Remember remember the 5th November!

We generally don't do much for bonfire night unless one of the family is having a bit of a do. This year we arranged to meet Aunty Jo and Uncle Murphy at the top of the race course. Aunty Jo bought yummy hot dogs and soup and we bought ketchup, coco to drink and chocolate snacks.

We got there about 6.45pm and watched the fireworks over Brighton & Hove. Then at 7.35pm the big firework display at the cricket ground started which was really good. It started to get a bit chilly so I went and got the car and thankfully amoungst all the other cars we managed to park by where we were and the little people watched the display from the car.

Tonight was also the first time that Samuel had held a sparkler on his own and I think it may have also been Daisy's first time as well, she has held them with other people but our little lady can be quite scared of the smallest things so I was quite surprised she did it.

Daisy is learning about bonfire night and Guy Fawks at school so she was very excited to see all the fireworks and is looking forward to telling everyone at school.

I am now slowly defrosting and Samuel and Daisy are sparko in bed!

A Sam funny!

I lent our friend Vic some halloween decorations and Vic, Dan and their little people Callum and Charlotte dropped them back yesterday afternoon when they were on their way to eat at a local restaurant. They stayed for ten minutes or so and when they were leaving, Sam shouted from the hall (I was in the kitchen): "Mum, I'm hungary so I am going with these people to the restaurant, bye" and then started to follow them out. It was so funny, he really is a cute little fella.

He got to spend the afternoon with Nanny Maureen this afternoon whilst Daisy and I were in London and in the car on the way home he told me that he loves his Nanny Maureen and her house. We are very lucky that our little people get so much attention from their grandparents and they adore them in return.

Didn't we have a lovely time the day we went to...

LONDON. The little lady had an inset day at school so we decided to take the opportunity to have a girly day out as Sam was at playgroup in the morning and with Nanny Maureen in the afternoon. We left after dropping Sam off and caught the train, upon reaching London we went over to the Science Musuem. We are not only very lucky to have stunning beautiful buildings but these buildings contain such fantastic things and all free to see. I havent been to the musuem since I was young so both Daisy and I were walking around saying 'Wow'. It has loads to see, in fact too much in a day and in some ways I would like to go without the children as there is so much to learn by reading what all the things are about. As Daisy recently worked on a project about Space at school we spent quite a lot of time in this area.

After the Science Musuem we popped our heads into the entrance of the Natural History Musuem next door to see the rather small, NOT dinosaur in the stunning foyer. We then walked along to Harrods and admired the Christmas windows before going in through the food hall (amazing, I wish I could do my weekly shopping there) until we came to the ice-cream bar. Daisy asked last time we were there if we could have ice-cream but we didnt have time so this was a real treat. Daisy ordered a 'Leonardo de vinci childrens plate' this had three flavours that she could choose which was chocolate, vanilla and mint served with wafers, chocolate sauce and whipped cream. Now at £10 this was a real treat and guess what the little lady that lovvveeesss ice-cream didn't like it!! Anyway I enjoyed my cream tea and at least she has had ice-cream at Harrods and we know not to go again!!

After our ice cream we headed up to the 3rd floor to see the Christmas decorations, early I know but I don't think we will be going to Harrods before Christmas and as we were there. Thank goodness we did as it was lovely and we had a lovely surprise, Harrods is celebrating 70 years with the Wizard of Oz and they had a Ruby Slipper Boudoir which was done out lovely, my photos do not do it justice. Anyway they were selling limited edition red ruby slippers and as my little lady loves a bit of sparkle we couldn't say no, she was served by her very own Dorothy and walked away with her very own limited edition pair. When I say walked away it was more dragged away as they were playing the movie on a large screen and the sofas were rather comfy.

We left Harrods and headed home as it was a long day and we were both feeling quite tired. Sammy boy had been looked after by Nanny Maureen after playgroup so a big THANK YOU to Nanny, they had a lovely afternoon. The little people had some suppa at Nanny's before coming home to see Daddy, having lots of cuddles and then much needed sleep.
