A beautiful weekend

The big people are free! Late Friday afternoon I met Tim in London as we were staying in the Wardolf in Aldwych for two nights whilst the little people had a mini holiday in Seaford with Nanny Anne and Grandad. Our hotel was right by Covent Garden so we went for a walk and ended up going to the movies in Leicester Square and saw '17 Again' which Tim thought was very funny, at the beginning I thought it was going to be corny but it turned out to be a nice feel good movie. We then had a late suppa before heading back to the hotel.

Saturday - we were up, out and on our way to Excel to Grand Designs live. We walked up Fleet Street, past St Pauls to Tower Bridge, such amazing sites sometimes you can forget what a beautiful city London is. Unfortunately the show was disappointing more like an interior shop than design! But anyway we got to see Kev! We then headed back to Soho for a lovely Thai lunch before going back to the hotel for a nap - how cool is that a nap in the afternoon! Tim had discovered this great new Italian deli called Princi in Wardor Streeet so we headed there after our little afternoon nap for some much needed cake and tea before coming back to get ready to go out to dinner with some friends... what a cool day!

Sunday - by the time we woke up we were really missing the little people so we decided to leave early and walk to Victoria as we thought it might be quicker as the London Marathon was on. It was a beautiful morning with clear blue skys and London did look its best. We walked down the Strand, down the mall (near the finishing line), through St James Park and stopped for breakfast opposite Buckingham Palace before getting the train, upon which we didnt say a word to each other but both read all of the Sunday Times - must be a first in months that we got to read it all.

We picked the little people up and Daisy was very excited to see us but unfortunately we got the cold shoulder from the little fella, I dont think he was happy that we had left him! They both had a great weekend with Nanny and Grandad doing lots of gardening (they work um hard), crafts, decorating biscuits, going to Bluebell Railway, etc. We didnt get to spend much time there as Daisy had a party this afternoon.

The rest of the day was spent at home cuddling and watching tv. Although Daddy did pop to the skate park after the little people had gone to bed and returned with an indian takeaway - what a great end to a great weekend!

Happy Birthday Tilly

This afternoon was Matilda's 4th birthday party. Unfortunately Daisy couldnt go as she was at school but Sam had a great time on the bouncy castle and on the climbing things. He then enjoyed a lovely tea before leaving with lots of cake to pick Daisy pops up from school.

Loving the jet wash

Sam and I were home today as Daisy was back at school so we thought we would have fun with Grandad's jet wash and clean the patio. It came up a treat our horrible dark green/black tiles are pink and cream under all that dirt! I found it quite therapeutic so anything that stood still long enough in the garden got a wash including the sand pit, slide, rubbish bin and recycling boxes... gees I am so interesting!

Before pic although I had started on the second row from the left, you can start to see the difference there

Finished and drying out (not great pics I'm afraid)

The little people meet Reggie Ireland

Today we met the new addition to the Ireland family... Reggie the dog. He is going to live in Germany with Jay and Kelly after they get married in July.

Daisy was so excited about meeting the dog in preparation she put her gloves on (the ones she wears in winter) and then fell asleep on the bean bag. Reggie came bounding into the house sliding over the kitchen floor and then christened it by peeing on it (lucky it is stone). Sam was keen at first but then Reggie was getting excited and running everywhere and once straight into Sam which unfortunately put him off.

We woke Daisy up and she took one look at him and then decided to watch from the stairs... I think she put her hand over my shoulder at one point but that is as far as we got.

Daisy gets a haircut

Daisy was in desperate need of a hair cut, so Nanny Maureen took her off to Toni & Guys to get it done (she goes to a posher hairdresses than me). Daisy loved being pampered and came out with a lovely hair cut that makes her hair look really thick.

Easter Sunday at Nanny and Grandads

This morning was spent relaxing at home which seems to be a big luxury these days as we are always so busy. Daisy didnt wake up until 9am as she was shattered from the wedding.

We gave Daisy a High School Musical scooter yesterday as she was desperate for a two wheel scooter for going to school and back. Sammy boy scored a wooden fort that I brought on ebay including all the figures for the bargain price of 99p, it is in fantastic condition and looks like it has hardly been played with and we worked it out that to buy new would be £100+ (the fort is £60 alone). Mind you I think Daddy was more excited about it than Sam.

We then went out for lunch to Strada in Brighton which was really yummy before heading over for tea and an egg hunt at Nanny and Grandads.

Nanny did a lovely tea and the little people loved looking for eggs. Sam spent most of the time following his Grandad around (as he always does) and asking him to play the piano or violin. Aunty Susie was also there with Lucy and Richard. The little people scored even more easter eggs, I dont know what we are going to do with all this chocolate.

Daisy was on the dance floor from the moment the first song started until about 9.30pm - I think she out danced everyone.
By 10pm it was all over for the little lady and she was asking to go home as she was so tired!
