Race for Life 2013

We walked/jogged/ran up and down hills for 5k in the blazing sun admiring the Epsom downs and race course. Daisy did a grand job and stormed in 2nd within our group of runners, the 'Jammy Joggers' with a great time of 36 minutes. I was so proud of her as she had done no training. We then went back to my sister-in-law's sister's house in Epsom and laid in the fun, eating, drinking and congratulating ourselves on what great runners we are!

On the way home Daisy made me promise that we would sign up for next year and have a party afterwards at our house! So who's running in 2014?

We went to see Mickey and Minnie...

Oh my gosh if I could bottle the excitement that Daisy and Samuel had in the run up to this holiday I would be very rich. We left for 16 days in Orlando at the end of May and had a blast. Daisy, Samuel, my sister Jo and I flew out first and then Uncle Murphy joined us for a week in the middle.

We went to Hollywood Studios, Magic Kingdom, Animal Kingdom, Epcot, Seaworld and Aquatica, we tried out the fastest roller coasters, went on the slow family rides, enjoyed the shows and hugged and had our picture taken with lots of characters. Daisy turned 9 and I turned 39! We spent many hours in the swimming pool and escaped to the Gulf of Mexico to feel talc-on-powder white sand between our toes and spent the night at Clearwater, staying right on the beach, cruising with pirates, spotting wild dolphins and visiting the star of Dolphin Tale, Winter.

Change

Wow what a crazy four months it has been, lots has happened...
  • Samuel lost his two top front teeth
  • Daisy completed her first mini mile
  • Samuel played in his first football match and scored a goal
  • Daisy and I did the 'race for life' 5k run together
  • I organised my first international event in Cannes
  • Samuel played the drums in his first public concert
  • We went to Kelly & Sam's wedding
  • Daisy, Samuel and I had an amazing holiday in Florida
  • Plus going to lots of friends parties, family gatherings and fun days out!
Sadly life hasn't been all about fun, even though most blogs portray the perfect family life. In March Tim decided that he longer wished to be married and left the family home. I have slowly learnt that life does continue and we will survive and therefore I thought it was important to restart the blog to show all the happy memories that the children and I will create on our own, starting with our great holiday in Florida.
