Today was mainly spent with Sam trying to move furniture from the lounge into the hall way!

Doctors, doctors and more doctors!

Within two days this week Sammy boy had been to see the asthma clinic where he has been put on a preventive inhaler to try and decrease the amount of visits to the hospital and has also been referred to a specialist so we can get his little chest checked out, he also had a hearing test as the last one showed up a slight hearing lost which showed up again so they will monitor him every four months although they said his speech and the sounds he was making are on track for his age, even a little advanced (I knew he was clever) and finally to the doctors for his MMR jab and as per usual our little fella has been a happy little man through out all of this.

This week we have taken it easy as we have had a mad couple of weeks. Yesterday we went to funplex and Daisy and Sam nearly had the place to themselves. Today, Thursday was our normal work day for the big people and nursery for the little people.

Sammy boy was christened today at St Andrew's Church in Hove at 12.30pm by Father Jonathan. It was a lovely service although Sam fell out of the pew and got a big bump to his head whilst we were singing along to 'All Things Bright & Beautiful'. After the service we all came back home to celebrate with lots of food, drink and 'Sam's sweet shop' - which the children and the adults seem to love.

It was fantastic weather for November so we ushered everyone into the garden for Tim to give a short speech and toast to our little fella - Sammy boy. We also sang Happy Birthday to Grandad as it was his birthday this week. Everyone then danced to 'Reach for the Stars' which is now becoming a Parker family tradition! At tea time we did present opening and Sam got lots of fantastic gifts, so thank you all for being so generous.

Everyone had left by 8.30pm and the house looked like it had hosted a really good party... plus I think our recycling has never seen so many empty bottles, I think there will be a few sore heads tomorrow morning! Thank you all for coming and hope you had a good day celebrating the beginning of our little fella's life.

The Parker's have had a busy week, Daddy has had a week of meetings, I have had two big events and also trying to get stuff sorted for the christening.

Friday, Sam and I went to Dartford with Nanny Maureen and Aunty Jo to the cash and carry to get some food bits for the christening and we also managed to get some christmas shopping done. Daisy got to spend the afternoon with one of her favourte people, Michaela and they spent it at Funplex (indoor play centre). Today we are doing another coat to the hall... and generally chilling and getting ready for the christening tomorrow.

Special breakfast

The little people had chocolate spread on toast for breakfast this morning for the first time and I think the photos of Sam show that they loved it. Is a one off though, so it will be back to the weetabix tomorrow!

Today has been manic as I have had loads of housework to catch up on, plus preparing for a big event tomorrow and we also had to pop into town to get a pair of shoes for three of the Parker's (Tim, Daisy annd I) for Sam's christening on Sunday. My outfit is now complete and I should fit into it as long as I don't eat anything between now and Sunday!

Tim and I are meant to be painting the hall this evening so it is finished on Sunday but we have had a busy day and really cannot face it, so I am going to soak in the bath and Tim is going to watch England qualify for the European cup football - Go England.

Wow wee, we have had 1,007 visitors to our blog since we started on the 31st July. Must start doing some interesting things to keep you all reading!

Work, decorating and a christening

We have had a busy week as I am working on quite a few events in November, plus Daddy is learning his new job and we also decided to paint the hall! It was a little undecided whether we should go ahead with Sam's christening on the 25th Nov as Sammy boy has been quite poorly recently, anyway we are, so we thought we should get the house in order and paint the hall. What we did not realise is what a big job it is. The prep has been done and the first coat has gone on but the wood needs at least three coats (inc undercoat) and the walls two - we did not realise what a horrible colour it was until we started painting. Before and after pics later in the week - thats if we ever finish it!

Today we went up to Oxford for Daisy and Sam's second cousins christening, Matilda and Elsie. We got to see all the family and we had a lovely time even though it rained non stop all day and even snowed on the way home. Daisy and Sam were fantastic as it was a two and a half hour car journey there and three and a half back and we did not hear a moan from them at all.

Story time

Close to home!

Since Sam came out of hospital on Wednesday we have been close to home as he has not been well, mainly wanting to sleep. Thankfully today he has really perked up and more like his normal self, charging around the place and putting everything that shouldn't go in the bin, in the bin - like shoes, keys. So far we have lost one of the house phones, the bowl to my weighing scales and one of his bottles, unfortuantely we realised the day the rubbish was collected and it was too late! Tim did managed to pull out two pairs of shoes (one mine, one Daisy's) and a garlic press on Friday though!

Daisy has been such a star whilst Sam has been poorly. Yesterday she and Tim went to the snowboard/surf shop and then headed to the park and then the local diner for a milkshake. She loves hanging out with her daddy.

Sam's christening is two weeks today and I havent done anything for it which is so unlike me, so this week must start thinking menu and ideas!

They day started early (6am) with Sam and I heading off to the hospital as Sam was having to work really hard breathing - usual story when he gets a cold. Whilst Sam was getting checked out, Daisy had a princess breakfast with her Daddy at Nanny Maureen's hotel. After being treated we were finally allowed home after lunch. Daisy had been at playgroup even though she does not normally go on a Wednesday, so thank you Laura for taking her at such short notice and thank you to Nanny Maureen (yet again) for picking her up.

This afternoon we chilled and Sam was running around the house. It was then dinner, cuddles and an early night.

Stonking colds

Sunday - Daisy woke up with a really bad cold which is so unlike her as she is never ever ill, accident prone yes but not ill. We had a distrubed night which we are totally not used to as thankfully our little people go to bed at 7pm and we don't normally here from them until about 6.30 the next morning - (yes I am being a smug parent).

This morning started off with me heading off to do the car boot sale at 7am. Tim took over half way though so I could help out at a church event all whilst the little people were tucked up at home with Nanny Maureen. We made £83 at the car boot (after Tim's breakfast and stall hire) which is great as we look at it as a stop off to the tip so that will pay for the paint for the hall way - it is amazing the crap that people will buy. In the afternoon the little people went to the park with Daddy, Nanny and Grandad as I went to a wedding fair with Cala to do some networking!

Monday - Playgroup and chores day. Sammy boy woke up with a cold today but thankfully it is not on his chest yet, a first! Daisy managed playgroup but then spent most of the day sleeping hopefully she will be back to her normal self tomorrow. Sammy boy was with Nanny Maureen for a few hours whilst I went to the dentist and walked from the bus stop to home which is a good walk for the little fella and he loved holding hands and kicking the leaves with Nanny.

It's like summer again!

Thursday was work and nursery day for the Parker's. Friday morning Daisy had playgroup and then as it was such a lovely day we decided to meet our friends Emma, Carys and Aston and head off down to the Sea Life Centre and then a stroll on the pier. Sam loved looking at the fish like his Grandad David used too. Daisy and Carys went on some of the rides on the pier whilst Emma and I enjoyed some good old seaside chips.

Today has been busy as we are preparing to paint our hall way. So Daisy was shipped off to Nanny Maureen's where she had a fantastic time going disco dancing and shopping. Sammy boy slept in the morning and Tim and I tidied up the back garden for winter and loaded the car for the car boot sale we are doing tomorrow morning. This afternoon was spent with me clearing out the shed - oh the glamour, Sam running round the garden which he loved and Tim sanding down the woodwork which took hours as there is so much of it. It was so warm we were in the garden wearing t-shirts and its November?!?
