Daisy's first sleep over

A very exciting day in the life of Daisy as her friend Imogen from Cornwall was coming to Brighton for the weekend. Imogen and her mummy Merryn come over in the afternoon and so did Lucas with his mummy Martine and the little people hung out at home playing like they had been together yesterday (when in fact it was more than eight months ago that they last saw each other). The little people had tea and then it was time for bath and bed. Imogen and daisy had an end of the bed each with a big bowl of popcorn and Daisy had the biggest treat ever of watching a movie in bed! Once the little people were in bed Martine returned with an indian takeaway which was a great treat - thank you Martine.

After a breakfast of chocolate crossiants it was off to nursery for the little people and work for the big people. Daisy had a great day as she spent it with some of her friends and had a birthday cake at nursery, then came home for a birthday tea with Nanny Maureen, Cala, Daddy, Sam, Nanny Anne and Grandad Frank and another birthday cake.

Relaxing day at home

Today was the first day in weeks that we have not had to be anywhere. After dropping Daisy off at playgroup we popped into one of my clients to give them my invoices and Sam had great fun flirting with the ladies. We then had to dash home as we had the supermarket delivering our groceries - how cool is that - makes life so much easier when you are working. Sam had a nap whilst I caught up with some emails and then we walked to playgroup to pick Daisy up. Sam walked half the way and had great fun exploring every crack, insect, path way, etc.

As it was such a warm day we got the paddling pool out and chilled in the garden for the afternoon. Pure bliss, a great day with my little people. Oh yes and Sam eat his first snail today.

What a scorcher!

Wow what a weekend, such great hot weather.

After a late night last night, we woke this morning to beautiful blue skies again. We headed off to church and then went up to Aunty Jo's and Uncle Murphy's for a tasty bbq. Lots of the family were there and Daisy got to hang out in the hot tub with Mia and Bob. Sam spent most of the afternoon chasing the chickens. It was very hot and I have lots of work on at the moment so we left mid afternoon and the little people hung out in the garden at home whilst I set to work on the computer.

Saturday was spent catching up as I have been busy working the past three weeks and what a day. I did three loads of washing, cleaned my car in and out, mowed the front and back lawns, trimmed the front hedge, tidied the back garden, cleaned the front door and lettbox, cleaned the kitchen and washed the floor, cleaned the lounge and washed the floor, cleaned the hall and washed the floor - unfortunately I did not have time to do upstairs - not surprised really. Tim helped out in parts but did a great job of keeping Sam occupied so I could get on. Nanny Maureen then came over to babysit whilst Tim and I went to dinner at one of his friends from work. Which was great as after being so busy al lday the last thing I wanted to do was cook dinner.

A day with my mum

I spent a lovely day with my mum today. What with me having two little people and working I don't tend to get much time with my mum on our own as the children are always with us or we are with our extended family.

Today was my mum's birthday present from me for her 70th. Nanny Anne looked after the little people, big THANK YOU to Nany Anne and mum and I caught the train mid morning to London. We had some retail therapy for a few hours hitting Selfridges and then we went to the Wolesey for cream tea, which is a fantastic restaurant next to the Ritz that you have to book about six weeks in advance. As a surprise I had arrange for mum's good friends Bernard and Gill to meet us there. Mum was totally surprised and never guessed and we sat chatting and eating sandwiches and pastrys and drinking tea for two hours. After the restaurant we headed to Fortum & Mason's where I brought Daisy some little cup cakes which they did up in a lovely box and Sammy boy a toy version of a route master bus.

Just want to say thank you to my mum for a lovely day and to Gill and Bernard for joining us for afternoon tea.

Daisy was still up when I got home and was so excited with her little package, all she kept saying was wow - she is so her mother's daughter when it comes to packaging!!

Unfortunately no pics of the day as again I forgot my camera but I did get a couple of Daisy with her cakes!

A lovely bank holiday Monday!

We had a great day out with our friends Dan and Vic and their children Callum and Charlotte. We headed off into the East Sussex country side and walked by the river and through the fields to our picnic spot. We did have to walk through a field with lots of cow's standing around very closely checking us out and I think Tim and dan were a little nervous! After a lovely relaxing picnic Vic and I headed over to the pub to check out how much it was to hire the boats and upon our return we found the boys a little panicked as the cows very heading their way very fast and the reason being is we were sitting near by where they get their water.

We spent the rest of the afternoon rowing up the river. Vic and I took Daisy and Callum first and then the boys took over whilst we looked after Sam and Charlotte. After some chilled beers and ice cream we headed home. All in all a fantastic day!

Unfortunately we did not take our camera and I could only load two of the photos that Dan took.

A strange day!

This morning we woke up with the excitement that we would find out what school daisy will be going to and boy we were disappointed as we did not get any of the three schools we put and we are being shipped out to a crappy school. Anyway we have a plan and will update later on what we are going to do.

After the horrible letter we headed into town to watch the children's parade (part of the Brighton festival) as Daisy's friends Pheobe and Callum were in it. Nanny Maureen met us and we watched the parade together before going off for some delicious lunch. After lunch we met up with Cala and walked through the Lanes to the pier where Daisy had a great time on the rides.

After a busy day we headed home for much needed dinner and a bath. The little people slept whilst Daddy went snowboarding for the evening in Milton Keynes and I caught up with house admin!
