The calm before the storm!

After a busy Easter spent with family and friends we have had a chilled week. Also April is a manic month for us as I am working near enough full time which will be interesting!

Today was spent hanging out at home other than going to Jake's fifth birthday party which Daisy loved as they had a bouncy slide and Sam loved as he got to play with big boy toys! We came home and Nanny Anne and Grandad paid a visit and Daisy and Grandad watered some special granuels that will grow into lettuce - will keep you updated on how we do. Nanny Maureen then very kindly babysit whilst Tim and I went to the movies.

At John and Elaines on Easter Monday, this was taken from the kitchen through the window. Daisy and the three older boys were in the kitchen but we could hear the piano being played and there was our Sammy boy banging out his tunes!

Easter Sunday

The weather really has taken a turn for the worst so Saturday morning was spent at Westo's enjoying the soft play area with Carys and Aston. The rest of the afternoon was spent at home chilling out before Tim and I went out for dinner with some friends whilst Nanny Maureen babysat.

We had the luxury of nanny staying over so she got up with the little people whilst I got to have a lovely lie in until 9am! Tim was too hungover to make church so slept in whilst I went and the little people stayed with nanny.

In the afternoon we headed over to Nanny Anne and Grandad's for a lovely lunch followed by an egg hunt where Daisy and Sam scored some eggs. Nanny and Grandad had also brought them some cool easter eggs, Sam got Timmy Tractor a tractor made out of chocolate and Daisy got a Barbie one with a barbie notebook which she loved. We had a lovely afternoon with Nan, Grandad, Aunty Susie, Richard and Lucy before heading home for dinner and bath time.

Good Friday 2008 - HAPPY EASTER

Our days in pictures (and a few words)...

We started off at Jo and Murphy's exchanging easter eggs and then putting the chickens away before we headed off on our adventure. Daisy got a great Dora the Explorer egg from Jo & Murp, a High School Musical one from Cala and a bag of chocs from Nanny Maureen. Sammy boy scored a Fireman Sam, Thomas and Bob Builder egg with egg cup, plate and cup from Jo & Murp, a Thomas one from Cala and a great bird house filled with choc from Nanny Maureen - a successful time on the easter egg front!


We arrived at out destination a National Trust house to do an Easter egg treasure hunt (behind the church)

After our yummy lunch we went on a really really really long walk across Seven Sisters Country Park down to the beach and back again - it was really windy on the way back but the scenery was beautiful.

We then went on to Charlie Hatch's first birthday and Daisy was stoked as she got to play with her buddies for a few hours. We finally got home around 6.30pm, after a quick dinner the little people fell into bed and a deep sleep within minutes!

Daisy normally goes to nursery on a Thursday but her playgroup had an easter fair with a egg hunt and bonnet parade on the same day i.e. today. As I was working Tim was going to take Daisy for a few hours but he had to go into work last minute so Daisy did not get to go. So as a treat she got to stay up late (after Sam had been put to bed) and make cakes to give out as her easter presents. She did it all by herself (other than the hot bit of melting the chocolate).

The making of the Easter bonnet!

Unfortunately we have not been up to much the past week, just the usual of work, playgroup, nursery, etc! Tim has now recovered from his illness and will return to work after Easter. The little people have loved having him home.

This afternoon Daisy made her Easter Bonnet for the Easter celebrations at playgroup on Thursday. We decided to use an egg carton and then had to ring Aunty Jo to run some ideas passed her and she came up with some great ones. Daisy like the one where you stick cotton wall and toy chicks in the broken egg shells best so thats what we went with. The bonnet is now finished and hopefully with dry out as Daisy slightly over done it with the paint and glue.

The Parker's like a hospital!

What a weekend! Tim was poorly towards the end of last week with a sore thoart and I am afraid to say that us ladies in the family thought he had man flu but no it was a serious condition and he was taken into hospital Saturday night with a 'Quincy' (peritonsillar abscess). My poor fella was in so much pain and had to be drugged for a couple of days. Thankfully he is now home and is on the mend and he has been signed off work for two weeks.

So life is busy making sure the big fella is being looked after and resting! Daisy is very happy to have her Daddy home and is doing a great job caring for him.

Another camera bites the dust!!

Months ago I wrote a piece on the blog about how we never seem to have much luck with our digital cameras - well another Parker camera bites the dust! Tim had dropped my camera coming back from snowboarding at Milton Keynes and it was working fine but you had to hold it tight to take a picture!! Anyway whilst we were away last week Sammy boy dropped it and now it does not work at all and cannot be repaired!! Thankfully we have the camera that I brought Tim for christmas - lets hope nothing happens to this one!

I was poorly at the beginning of the week with a bad throat but got off very lightly compared to Tim who is really suffering at the moment (currently wrapped up on the sofa as I write this, he is unable to eat, drink or speak).

This afternoon Daisy, Sam and I went to Toby and James's party at Holmbush Farm which was great. We have never been there before and it was good to check out a new attraction. There was loads of great stuff to play outside on tree houses, forts, sandpits and then we went on a tractor ride in the pouring rain and I got soaked as I was sitting at the back! After three hours of fun we left looking like we had been on a farm, covered in mud and totally windsweat as the weather had taken a turn for the worse.

Unfortunately no pics until I get a camera sorted or at least Tim's one charged!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY NANNY ANNE

We have had a busy weekend as Daddy came home on Saturday night. We went to pick him up form the airport and as soon as he came through the doors Sam and Daisy ran up to him shouting Daddy. What with Sam being so young I didn't think he would miss Tim that much but he was so happy to see him and did not want to be put down.

Sunday was Mothers Day and as it was Tim's first day home I got to relax abit whilst he took charge of the children. We meet Nanny Maureen in town briefly to give her her present and then we went off to lunch at the all you can eat noodle place which I really enjoyed. After eating so much we walked it off along the beach.

Today, Monday is Nanny Anne's birthday so she is coming for a quick suppa with Grandad as they are going to the theatre in Brighton tonight. Daisy has a party to go to this afternoon so a busy busy day!
