Our day started extremely early with two little people shouting 'he has been' at 4am this morning! They dragged their stockings into our room and could open them on the condition that they went straight back to sleep. So as Daddy and I sat half asleep trying to sound excited the little people tore open their presents from Father Chrsitmas. Thankfully they kept their part of the deal and went straight back to bed and we all woke up about 8am - what a great start to Christmas day.
We went downstairs and FC had also left a present on the fire place for each of them, Samuel his much wanted Postman Pat train and Daisy her iPod Nano. After some more unwrapping the little people laid the table as Grandad and Nanny Anne were coming over for breakfast.
It was a nice laid back morning with presents, a delicious breakfast (even if I say so myself) of grilled field mushrooms, scrambled eggs with smoke salmon, bacon, chunky bread toast and chocolate crossiants, Daddy putting the finishing touches to his cake and opening of presents.
After the mornings excitement we loaded up the car, said goodbye to Grandad and Nanny and headed off to pick up Nanny Maureen on route to Jo and Murphy's.
We arrived and it was another session of presents opening (we love Christmas) and the little people were quite chuffed as they scored some great presents, Daisy her much wanted make up doll and also a Dance dvd and Samuel his much wanted Toy Story Train and Turbo Twister Car. I got a beautiful glass sweet jar that I had had my eye on in the summer and a lovely jumper so we were totally spoiled.
Then it was onto eating canapes whilst Jo and Murphy finished off the dinner, Aunty Jo was superb as unfortunately she was feeling very poorly but still managed to pull everything off. We made our way to the party room which had been done out beautifully and openedour secret santa present which we had to wear through dinner - unfortunately I had a shower cap and Timmy boy had the pleasure of wearing a Brighton & Hove Albion woolly hat!!
After a traditional delicious Christmas dinner of turkey it was time for the judging of the boys Cupcake competition. Now I was expecting Andy to win with Murphy close behind as they are known to be talented in the kitchen but I am proud to say that our Timmy boy won with a clear lead not only on looks but taste too, the white chocolate, hazelnut and cranberrie cake was a tasty.
More drinking and eating and then we returned to the house to bust some moves and I must say Uncle Murphy and Daisy were very impressive in this department.
The Parker's would like to take this opportunity to thank Uncle Murphy and Aunty Jo for a fantastic Christmas day, even though they were both under the weather they did a fantastic job and the little people loved it.
Sam's highlight was taking about 400 pictures with any camera he could get his hands on, Daisy's highlight was busting some moves with Uncle Murphy, Tim's was winning the cup cake competition and mine was being with my family.
