Isle of Wight hear we come!

Day one of our hols to the Isle of Wight! We left home at 10.30am for the midday ferry, the car was all apcked up and we looked like we were going for a month not five days! We arrived at Portsmouth in plenty of time, Sam loved driving onto the ferry and the crossing over to Fishbourne. It was fantastic weather so the views were lovely.

As soon as we drove off the ferry Sam fell asleep and on the way to our accommodation we stumbled across a pub with lovely views over the islands country side, it was rude not to stop and have some lunch. They had a play park so Daisy played, Sam slept and Tim and I enjoyed a peaceful lunch - what a good way to start the holiday.

It was then off to our home for five days, a three bedroom mobile home in Shanklin. Thankfully it was lovely and clean so after unpacking we walked down to Shanklin beach for some sand castle building! Daisy and I even had a swim in the sea, the first this year.

We then walked back, had a shower and then headed to the entertainment on site, unfortunately on our one it was pretty shocking but they have a bigger one up the road so will try that out tomorrow. Daisy loved the disco though and Daddy won the best parent disco dancing compeition - we are so proud!

Do we ever have a quiet week! Never!

Same old story of school, playgroup and playdates this week. I have been busy planning the school fair which is in July and also a surprise 20th anniversary party for Sue at playgroup, which over 100 people turned up for yesterday. Thankfully we had catered for enough! Pics are below:

Zack took a shine to Daisy which Sam didn't mind as he cleared Zack's plate whilst he was chatting Daisy up! I don't think Daisy was taken with having a toy boythough!

Daddy popped into to say hi and take Sam home as he was shatttered from all the excitement and it meant mummy could tidy up in peace.

We woke up nice and early, so Tim headed off to the skate park for an early morning dad session (all the 40 yr olds go down between 7.30 and 9am before all the kids arrive). Sam, Daisy and I followed, the little people on their scooters. We played in theh park, Sam went down one of the ramps on his scooter on his own - Tim was chatting at the time, lets not say any more about the matter other than thankfully Sam made it down in one piece and still on his scooter.

It was then on to the beach for some pebble throwing, then another quick stop in the park before going home for a cooked breakfast and a day chilling at home finished off with a roast dinner and a visit from Nanny Maureen.

Long time no blog!

As per the last post the days have been filled with playgroup, school and play/tea dates, birthday parties and me painting anything that will stay still for long enough. Since giving up work I have become quite lazy but this week I have finally got my but into gear, bought some paint brushes and am touching up all the dirty paintwork - the only problem is once you start you realise how bad all the walls are! This week I have done the hall and kitchen, I have a busy week next week but hope to get the lounge done.

I went out to Jamie Oliver's new restaurant this week with the mum's from school which was fun, the food was delicious but not cheap. I have also taken over organising the school fair so have been pretty busy.

Last night was the midnight walk for the Marletts hospice, 13 miles starting at midnight. Aunty Jo took part with her work mates and Nanny Maureen and Aunty Debby were working at base registering people and giving out medals. The route was down our road and Jo walked past at 2am, Daisy and I were up to greet her and let her have a quick loo break. Jo did the whole 13 miles in 3hrs and 45minutes which is fantastic. Well done to everyone that took part and worked the event.

Today Daisy had dance rehearsal for her dance school's production of Hello Dolly from 9.30am to 10.30am then it was a quick change from her ballet outfit to being a pirate for Flo's party at 11am till 1pm when we had a quick change to normal party clothes for Patrick's party at 1pm! Finally at 3.30pm the parties were over and the little people and Daddy chilled at home whilst I went to stock up on supplies at the supermarket and hunt down a Father's day present for tomorrow. Sammy boy was lucky today as whilst Daisy was at dancing and at birthday parties he had a great time at Bluebell railway with Daddy, Grandad and Nanny Anne.

Lots been going on

As usual our week has been filled with playgroup, school, swimming and play/tea dates. Daisy had achievement asembley on Friday. They have it every other Friday and as each class comes in they sing 'What have you done today to make me feel proud' by M People until the whole school has come in and sat down. Then Mr Vidler invites the ones that achieved recently up on stage and Daisy got hers for using different media to make paper flowers. Daisy told everyone what she had done and then got a sticker. It was really lovely to watch and I must say quite emotional seeing all the children singing the song.

It was also my birthday and Samuel, Daisy and Daddy treated me to them all singing Happy Birthday and presenting me with cake with candles, a cup of tea and presents in bed. Sam was all over me until the candles were blown out and then he was only interested in my cake!

Daisy's friend Jelena shares the same birthday as me and Daisy went to her party at a private health club, it was nice as I got to sit in the bar for two hours with some friends whilst the party was on. Martine then very kindly offered to give me a lift home but got a flat tire and unfortunately the wheel was jammed on so the AA had to be called and Daddy came and rescued us. The day was finished off with a chinese take out!
