First visit from the tooth fairy for Samuel

I woke up to the little fella lying beside me in bed shouting "mum, mum, my tooth has fell out' I have never seen him so excited.

Now this tooth has been the longest wobbly tooth in history... he first felt a wobble at Aunty Jo's house during Christmas Dinner which was 6 months ago!

When I collected him from school, I asked if anyone had noticed and he said his teacher asked him where his tooth was and then went on to tell me that he told him "I sold it to the tooth fairies."

Bed time was a breeze tonight as Samuel was keen to get to sleep so the fairies could visit, it's funny he gets far more excited about fairies and sparkle than Daisy ever did.

Thankfully when he woke up they had been and very kindly left a shiny £2 coin and also made quite a mess with blue glitter which I wasn't happy about but Samuel was delighted with and he was quite happy to go to school with it in his hair to show they had been!

Today was quite a busy day as we are trying to finish off decorating the hall, I am doing the decor for Daisy's school 21st birthday party and then we wanted to go to the Try sports day at Preston Park, thankfully we managed to fit it all in!

This is what Daisy woke up to this morning...

After lunch today we caught the train up to London, had a little look at the shops in Oxford Street before heading to the Hard Rock Cafe for dinner. I knew that Samuel would love this place as one they served the food he liked and two he would be surrounded by musical instruments. Before we sat down we did a tour of the Vault, this contained priceless memorabilia from stars such as Elvis, Madonna and Elton John to name a few. To be honest Samuel didn't care who had owned it, he was just happy the fact he got to see and touch instruments.

After the Vault we headed back into the cafe for dinner, which did not disappoint and we also thought good value. Daisy went for the large hot dog and Samuel had the burger, I had the ribs which were delicious and Tim a club sandwich (he had been out for a posh client lunch earlier).

After dinner we took a stroll up to Piccadily Circus stopping off at Fortum & Mason's to buy Nanny Maureeen a little treat before going to the Prince of Wales theatre to watch the musical show Mamma Mia. The little were very excited to be going to their first West End show. They sat through the whole thing, in hindsight I think it was a little late for Samuel, as he every time he went to nod off and there was a blast of music he was all wide eyed again. Daisy adored the whole thing and we all got up to dance at the end.

Afterwards we managed to catch the fast train straight away and were home before midnight.

Happy Birthday Mummy

This morning I woke up to breakfast in bed from the little people, Samuel was instant on carrying the tray. I received a lovely pair of earrings for my birthday.

The little people were off school and Daddy had a day off work so we spent the morning relaxing before going into town for a spot of lunch and a walk.

I think came home to a surprise tea party from Daisy and Daddy along with a beautiful bunch of flowers.

A little walk in the country

Today we went for a walk out of the 100 walk's in the countryside book! It was along the old railway track of where the TV series of the Railway Children was filmed with some fields and tracks thrown in! Across one of the fields what we thought was a couple of water buffalo's turned into a herd that followed us across one field. We stopped off for a little snack and then about 3 miles into the walk with 2.5 miles to go the heavens opened and for the 2nd time this weekend we got drenched.

We got back to the start and all climbed back into Uncle Murphy's bongo and went to a pub for dinner to recover.

Another day of Jubilee celebrations

We had a lovely lazy morning at home before heading up to Uncle David's & Aunty Dawn's for a family lunch. It was nice to see the family and eat lots of lovely food (made even more lovelier that I did not have to prepare it or tidy away afterwards).

The little people and I also got lots of cuddles with the new addition to the family, Freddie. Daddy had his first cuddle with his one and only great nephew.

Diamond Jubilee Pageant on The Thames, London

Wow what a day, today we travelled up to London with Jo and Murphy and waited for 6 hours by the River Thames waiting for the Queen in her Jubilee pageant and it was well worth the wait.

The little people were amazing waiting in one spot for six hours in the rain with nothing to do just the excitement of the pageant coming our way and maybe seeing the Queen.

Well, we saw the pageant, we saw the queen and other members of the royal family, lots of boats and in true British style all whilst getting soaking wet by the rain. I had to pull Samuel away from the railing to leave as the rain ran off our faces with him saying 'one last boat mum'. It was then a scramble back to London Bridge to catch a very crowded train home where we finished off our picnic and sat in damp clothes.

Today we created a a great memory that will last a lifetime...

Our street party to celebrate the Queen's Diamond Jubilee

Wow, who thought a street people that we hardly know would be such good fun. After 8 years of living in our road we met most of the people that live in it and what a nice bunch. We only actually know our immediate neighbours who funny enough did not come but we met lots of families from the other end of the road.

Nanny Maureen popped over and we spent the afternoon enjoying great food (one of the best curries I have tasted), good company and children all playing together in the street like the old days.
