Beach, Park, Garden - what a busy day!

Firstly a huge belated CONGRATULATION'S to the Theobold family on the birth of baby no 3, William. Jo my friend and business partner gave birthday on Saturday morning unfortunately she didnt have the best time and ended up with a c-section so today we had her other two little people Flo and Ed so she could have a bit of a rest but also so the little people could get together for a play.

As it was a lovely sunny day we loaded up the wagon with a picnic and our buckets and spades and headed down to the beach. Unfortunately the tide was coming inand it was very windy but we did manage a couple of hours there, Sam and Flo very very brave and went in the sea whilst Ed and Daisy huddled under a towel.

Nanny Maureen made a surprise visit and treated us to ice creams which was a lovely surprise. It was getting very windy so we headed for a play at Wish Park and then home for a play in the srinklers and paddling pool.

We headed over to Jo's mid afternoon and we all got to have a little cuddle with William. We then walked home stopping for some supplys for our BBQ. Daisy picked Cherries and Sam strawberries to bake on the barbie with some chocolate all wrapped in foil.

The Parker family are interesting!!!

We have had over 5,000 hits on the blog since 19th October 2009.

I started writing the blog in July 2007, come 2009 I didnt know if many people were reading it so I decided to put a counter on and I must say I am surprised at the no of hits we have had, I wish I had done it sooner.

So todays figures show that people do read it, but you never leave comments!! Come on now, lets have a few more comments please.

Monday 26th July - HAPPY 50th BIRTHDAY UNCLE MURPHY

Aunty Murphy (as Sam likes to call him) is the young age of 50 today, so it was a busy day at the Daisy Samuel Bakery as we had had an order for a birthday cake for the birthday boy.

The design team went into a frenzy of ideas and the Samuel side came up with a chocolate top with banana sweets and the Daisy side came up with a chocolate cake with an icing top that she could draw on! After lots of stirring, Samuel lifting the whisk out of the bowl whilst still on and decorating the kitchen with cake mixture, Daisy breaking the egg into the mixture along with shell and general 3yr and 6yr old baking mayhem the cakes were baked and ready for decorating!

We made our way up to Jo and Murphys to deliver the no expense spared birthday cake. Aunty Jo had laid on a little tea to which Daisy was delighted about as it was all her favourite things so she spent most of the evening eating before sinking into their super soft sofas and watching the Disney channel - she thought she had gone to heaven she was having such a good time.

After yummy tea, Uncle Murphy opened his presents and then we had the delicious cake. Watch out Daisy Samuel Bakery I reckon we could be getting lots of orders soon.

School is out.... whoo hoo!

Samuel left his playgroup on Thursday and Daisy finished school yesterday so it is now officially the summer holidays.

Joining ceremony at Rainbows - Tuesday

Daisy has been going to Rainbows every Tuesday for the past couple of months which she loves and on Tuesday she had her joining ceremony where she had to make her Rainbow Guide Promise. We were all asked to contribute to the party, I was given the job of supplying cakes so I attempted to do something Rainbow themed - they didnt come out too bad considering my history with an icing bag!! Daisy had a great time and I got to watch her make her promise at the end, bless her when I walked in she mouthed she had forgotten it but by the time it was her turn she remembered every word and was so proud of herself. I wanted to cry, gees what am I going to be like at her graduation, this was just Rainbows! I now have a badge to sew on to her uniform.

She also was a runner up for getting the most good points this term and she got a sparkly pink skipping rope - so rather a chuffed Daisy today!

Pirate day at school 21st July

It is nearly the end of term and year 1 for Daisy. For the past couple of months she has been studying the sea finishing off with pirates, so Wednesday was Pirate party day where all she did was play and get to dress up as a pirate - not a bad school life.

Not sure why she is looking unhappy here or it might just be her mean and moody pirate look!

Friends, parties, cooking, relaxing, walking - it's all been happening this weekend

1st Year Report Card

And boy was it good! Daisy pops came home with her school report from Year 1 and what can I say other than we are very proud parents. OK smug parent boasting now:

• Daisy has been a delightful member of the class.
• Daisy is a very happy girls who always comes to school with a smile on her face and never fails to make me laugh.
• Daisy has lots of fantastic ideas and has responded really well to the the creative curriculum.
• Well done Daisy for another fantastic year of learning.

Paps capture tiaras and feather boas

Today was a very special day at Tea Cups & Tiaras Towers, we were hosting a Tiaras & Boa party for Daisy and her school friends to celebrate the end of Year 1 and also Mia being home from America for a few weeks. It happened to also be great timing for a photo shoot for the local paper The Argus!

One of the other mums and I picked up some very excited girls from school, Jo (my friend and biz partner) was holding the fort at my mine until we got back then it was a qucik change for the girls into their party dresses and waiting for Mia to arrive who happened to turn up with the photographer! The weather didnt know what it was doing so it was a quick dash to get it all set up as the photographer didnt have long with us. He took loads of pictures of the girls, the table setting and Jo and I and all things going well there should be a piece on us in the business section of the Argus on Tuesday.

After the photographer left Daisy and her pals got to enjoy tea and just be girly girls and run around the garden playing, they had a fantastic time and it was lovely to see them all getting on so well. The mums also got to chill out over tea and cakes - what a bonus. After a quick game of bingo it was time for the girls to head home.

Achievement Assembly

This morning was Daisy's achievement assembly at school. I must the school does it well with the children singing and drumming. Daisy got an achievement for working well in a group.

This is what happens when I go out...

Samuel draws on himself with permanent marker. This is the morning after and unfortunately Daddy didnt think to wash it off the night before whilst still wet so also over the bed linen as well. In the morning we tried to get it off with olive oil first, nail varnish remover was recommended but I didnt want it on his skin. We are now four days in and we have still have lines not as bright but at this rate they should be gone by the end of August!!

Jabs and more jabs

We got a call from the doctor today asking where we were??? Apprantly we were late for jabs, it was the first we knew about it so the little people were bundled into the car to the doc's surgery whilst I explained that they were going to see the lovely nurse and she want to check their arms. I was so very proud of them as they were both fantastic and had a jab in each arm and we did not hear a noise/cry from them. Unfortunately a few hours later they both had sore left arms with a big red bump.

Today was Sam's pre school fair and sports day. We had some stalls like hook a duck, face painting and lucky tree. The little people had a picnic lunch and then took part in the races and Sam received a fantastic medal as all the little people were winners... so PC! But Sam and mummy did win the mummy's race wey hay! Sam also took part in the Daddy's race as they had to race with their child but Katie didnt want to so Sam ran with her dad. They both ran really fast and when it got near the end it go so competative Sam was carried across the finish line.
