Our day at the Olympics

Wow what a day! Unfortunately we were unable to get tickets to see any of the Olympic sports but I wanted the little people to experience the Olympics in London some way so we decided on a day out at BT Live in Hyde Park. Today wasn't a great day for live sport as there was only sports like boxing, judo and horse events taking place with no medal rounds so watching on the live screen wasn't exciting so after the initial excitement of arriving and experiencing Cadbury's House I was thinking it wasn't going to be as exciting as I first thought... but that all changed! See the photos to see why:

Outside BT Live at Hyde Park (Marble Arch end) - the little people had walked here from Victoria Station

Inside BT Live

We weren't expecting this... whilst sitting down eating our lunch and deciding what to do next i.e. go to the Science Museum or walk around London the Brownlee brothers came on with their Gold and Bronze medals for the triathlon. They then announced that more medal winners were coming on along with a dance act and some singing. The little people were hooked and wanted to stay, on one condition they could do to the front and that is what we did...

Beautiful Hyde Park - after a fantastic afternoon dancing our socks off at BT Live and see the medal winners we walked the long way around the park, stopping off in Princess Diana's fountain for a paddle.

We walked all the way to Harrods for a treat in the Ice Cream Parlour but only got there 15mins before it closed so had to do with a visit to their recently opened Christmas department!

After some sweet treats at Harrods we walked back to Victoria. London you were fantastic, so brilliantly organised and beautiful in the sunshine, once in a lifetime experience.

Before heading home on the train we had all you can eat pizza, pasta and salad before arriving home just before midnight. I had the most fantastic day with the best behaved little people who were buzzing on the way home and although shattered were talking too much about the day to sleep!
