Annual Christmas visit to London

Today was our annual trip to London. I have done this with the little people and my friend Angela since Daisy was one years old. Every year we book Father Christmas at either Selfridges or Harrods, we have lunch on the train to Victoria, get the bus to Marble Arch, walk down Oxford St admiring the Christmas windows and lights, then Regent St with a stop in Hamleys for the children to have a play, then it is suppa time followed by some shopping in Fortnum & Masons before we head over to Harrods in Knightsbridge and Winter Wonderland.

To our horror this year was different, Angela wasn't able to make it due to being poorly but the plus side was Daddy came instead although at times Daisy was rather horrified that he kept suggesting doing other things/changing route.

We arrived in Victoria to rain and it did not stop for 4 hrs but that did not stop us, we got the bus to Marble Arch and admired the windows at Selfridges which I must say were very poor, not at all Christmassy. The lights in Oxford & Regent St were lovely and so were the ones on the other department stores. Unfortunately we didn't get to do Hamleys as there was a huge que to get in and once we got in the foyer the fire alarm went off so we headed to Piccadilly Circus for something to eat by this time we were wet, tired and hungary - not our normal festive selves. After some suppa and time out we hit Fortnum & Masons for some retail threapy. I was born to shop there it is just unfortunate I was born without the bank balance to do it!!

We then got the bus over to Knightsbridge and Harrods did certainly save the day, their Christmas windows are stunning and as we were admiring them the Coke Cola Holidays are coming truck drove past honking it's horn, very magical Christmassy moment.

We were due to see Father Christmas at 7pm but was a little early so Daisy picked out a coat (see pic below) at a very reasonable £699 and also some bra tops (must say I nearly fell on the floor when she picked these up at only 7yrs old). Thankfully we were called for FC before anything could be purchased. I can honestly say we meet the real Father Christmas tonight at Harrods, he was brillant. After a great time with FC we headed over to Winter Wonderland at Hyde Park for some festive fun before getting the late train home.
