Normally it's all nice stuff on the blog but today is reality Monday:
Woke up after 4hrs sleep (still recovering from a migraine), got the little people and me dressed, made pack lunches, loaded dishwasher, hung out washing. Got little people and friends into car and drove to school, got blocked in road by fair ground entering site and had to listen to a very old man moan about how people drive to school when he used to walk 6 miles over the Dales after smiling politely when all I wanted to do was tell him to F??? off (it is reality day) he kindly moved his Walser and let us pass! We got to the school gate in time for the bell by the scuff of our neck.
Back in the car and on route to playgroup (feeling a bit like Annika Rice now but with out the tight all in one), drop Samuel off and come out to find I have been blocked in again by another lorry unloading. After lots of smiling and mad waving man moves his lorry and I am on my way to work... red petrol light comes on... not impressed with husband who has used car all weekend. Made dash into petrol station to get enough to get me to work as have a meeting as soon as I get in.
Work - feeling kinda normal, cup of tea and chat with the girlies who have been on hen weekends aboard/out for nice dinners - hurrr who'd want a life like that when you can be buried deep in housework, washing and kids activities all weekend not me ;) Anyway meeting goes well, feel a bit organised, on a roll and get quite a bit done.
Leave work when just in the flow of getting stuff done, drive down the motorway and get Samuel from playgroup but first have to watch him hold a snail, which he is very excited about, yes I really did say snail. After all that excitement and a nice cuddle with snail slime wipped all over my work trousers we drive, cannot park because of the fair arriving, so do something illegal - how grand does that sound when all it is is parking on double yellows!
Pick up the little lady, lots of moaning that we are not going to the park today but hay we do get to go get Sam a new scooter and do a supermarket shop (didnt order enough when I did the online one, durrr). So back in the car to the supermarket stop off at laundrette to check what coins the big mamma machine takes, hit Hove town and bump into some friends which brightens my day then on to buy another £50 scooter than Samuel will trash within 48 hours but this was equaled out by Daisy buying 7 Rainbow Magic books for £4.50 in a charity shop.
Food shop went relatively smoothly considering it was done by one very tired adult and two hyper children. Back in car, on the way home stop by the laundrette and put the fairly new rug that Daisy threw up on and also covered in blood in a rather big 'what I hope' magical machine, back in car, get home, unload car, start to cook tea, builder knocks on door to give quote. Half an hour later, tea still not cooked, Samuel found behind the sofa with what was a new jar of nutella now empty, shopping still to unpack, realisation of thongs drying on arier in kitchen where builder was and a £4k esitmate for work to be done... oh well back to cooking the tea.
Little people eat but guess who is not hungray after a jar of chocolate??? Super nanny would be proud he was not allowed to leave the table until every crumb was eaten and was! Big fella comes in, I cook his dinner, bath and bed for little people, but whilst this was being done I crept back to the laundrette to get the rug. Now this is the really good part of my day: It went in a hot wash so after the day I have had I was expecting it to come out half the size still covered in sick and blood but no the machine really was magical and it came out the same size and sparkling clean - this sparkling clean rug has made my day ;)
To celebrate it was a shower for me then Tea cups work and house admin, put on dish washer, clean kitchen. Now the house is asleep and still a mess and I writing our blog with two crumpets with the tinest amount of chocolate spread and a glass of milk.
This folks is my reality Monday!
