How lucky are we the Brighton Marathon goes right past the end of our road! It is it's 2nd year and I was able to watch it - I was running it last year. Daisy, Samuel and I went to the bottom of our road just after 10am to see the first runner go past, he later went on to win it in 2hrs 16mins. We hung out with our neighbours and some of Daisy's school friends cheering on the runners and waiting for Kelly Ireland to run past. We then popped home, grabbed our picnic and made our way to the beach to cheer Kelly and the runners on as they made their way to the finishing line. The little people were great cheering people on, Samuel's fav were "Not far to go", "well done" and "keep running" very cute to see and hear. On the walk back home the main road at the bottom of ours was still closed and the little people thought it was very funny that they could sit/walk in the middle of what is normally a very busy road. After the fun of the marathon we headed up to Aunty Jo's and Uncle Murphy's for a celebratory BBQ - one for Kelly finishing and one for Murphy's sisters 60th birthday. Murphy entertained the little people by opening his bar. A great day was had by all.
