This will be Samuel's first birthday party where it is HIS friends coming, not our friends children, Daisy's friends or family. Sam's friend's from playgroup, etc. On the invite list was:
Zack, Ed and Preston - his mates from playgroup
Ed and Flo - Daisy and Flo go to school together and Ed and Sam have become buddies
Tilly and Elsie - Sam's 2nd cousins who he loves to see
He is not three until the 4th October but I have a race that day and we have the family coming over for lunch in the afternoon so thought it would be best to have a seperate party for his friends otherwise they get a little lost in the crowd.
Sam couldnt decide on what party he wanted, it was between a Thomas, Pirate or Dinosaur theme and finally he chose Dinosaurs. As many of you that read the blog will know I had real trouble finding a nice dinosaur theme and other than the plates and table cloths, I ended up making everything myself.
It was the usual mad rush to get everything ready for when his guests arrived at 11.30am. The next two hours were filled with lots of laughter, dancing, bouncing, hammer banging and lots of noise:
The cave where the feast took place
Dino jelly and some sweet treats
As it was such a warm day, Dino water was on hand
There was even Dino snacks
Musical Dinosaur's and Flo won the prize
Each guest was given a bag and was told that the Dinosaurs had laid some eggs in the garden and they were to find two each
The dinosaur eggs - I made these out of light plaster and put a small dinosaur in them before they set
The boys with their bags
Tilly starting to hatch her eggs
The girls giving their baby dinosaurs a wash
Sammy boy loving being allowed to play with a hammer!
More egg hatching
Then it was time for a quick game of 'Pass the Dinosaur Egg'
Eash guest received a prize and Ed scored the big one!
Next was the erupting volcano, I love the look on Zack's face
Lunch time and Sam descide's to raise a toast to himself 'Cheers'
My handsome fella
This is the first novety cake I have attempted to make - A Dinosaur Island

Love this party! We are just about to have a dinosaur party for my sons 5th birthday and if you don't mind I'm borrowing your "cave" idea. Just one question, how to you make it? Are those steel bars up around and black material draped over?
Kristie :-)
Hi there - I saw you listed on the Creative Party Place and had to check it out. This is such a cute party! I especially love the dino photo "booth." So cute!
