We did a mad dash through the animals, stopping to peek at the ones that the little people really love... generally lots of different types of monkey and of course not forgetting the snowy owl. We were heading to meet my friend Maja and her two children in the play area. The outside play area was far too large to look out for the children and for us to relax so we headed into the indoor one which meant the little people could play and us mum's could chat over tea! We enjoyed a picnic lunch with the Larma's and with the Thomas train passing every ten minutes. After lunch Sam was desperate to see his beloved Thomas so I left the girls playing whilst Sam and I went for a ride on Thomas. We finished our day at Drusilla's walking back to the car with the girls licking their ice cream's and Sam trying to trade some of his doughnut for a lick of their ice cream - it worked!
We popped into see Nanny Maureen on the way home and the little people collapsed in front of the tv with hot toast and jam. A perfect end to the day!
Well for the little people anyway because when we got home Cala came over and we both went for a jog. Niether of us was in the mood but we ran just over three miles to the palace pier. As we were unsure with what the weather was doing (it had been raining and sunshine on and off throughout the day), we had taken 50p with us to call Tim to collect us if it suddenly poured down. It turned our to be lovely and sunny although very windy. We reached the pier still with our 50p and started to walk back when we both fancied some chips, so Cala took the courage and went into a fish and chip shop on the beach and asked for as many chips as 50p would buy and the guy gave us a huge portion. They were the best chips I had ever tasted so it was also a perfect end to the day for the big people as well.
