The Children's Parade

What a fantastic family day!

Today was the children's parade through Brighton town centre to open the Brighton Festival. 73 schools took part and it involved 40,000 people parading through the streets and our beautiful girl was one of them. We have spent a couple of evenings at school making our outfits and the theme was fire for our school.

We set off from home at 10am as our meeting time was 10.30am, unfortunately as the parade was late starting and we were no 72 out of 73 we had to hang around for an hour and half but 73 was a great samba band so we danced the time away and the little people were fantastic waiting. Midday we were off, it was great fun and Daisy walked in a line with her friends holding hands, they looked so cute. On route we saw lots of friends, Nanny Maureen joined us and then we spotted Aunty Jo which Daisy was very excited about. We finished off at the beach with fish and chips on the pebbles with our friends John and Sara and their children Maisy and Evie. Daisy had a little paddle before we headed home to spend the rest of the afternoon in the garden - what great weather we had today. Days like today make you realise how lucky we are to be living in a cool town like Brighton. The ironic thing is last year I spent the whole time watching the parade crying because Daisy didn't get into the school we wanted and got into the one we didnt but it just goes to show things happen for a reason and Daisy loves her school and they did us proud today... so well done Portslade Infants.
