Before lunch at Nanny Anne and Grandad's, Sam had a violin lesson and the little people enjoyed playing outside in the unexpected sunshine.

Spring Holidays (in my day it was called Easter Holidays)
Today the little people broke up from school and playgroup for the Easter Holidays, they are at home with me for two and a half weeks and return to school/playgroup on the 19th April. I am looking forward to not having the morning rushof the school run and just being able to chill and spend some time with them.
We are spending Easter weekend with various members of our family and then we hope to have some days out, clear out their rooms and also work on the garden (planting a veg garden, etc) if it ever stops raining. We have a few days where we are looking after various little people to help their mum's out with their work schedules which will be fun. We may even do some baking and sticking.
At the end of the hols (Sun 18th April) I will be taking part in the first ever Brighton Marathon, yep all 26.2miles of it - I say taking part rather than running as I will be either be jogging / walking / stumbling / crawling it. I have never run before I started training for this and training is hard. I am out in all weathers also coping with the pain of losing four toenails and a knee injury. Now hopefully you are reading this thinking wow I should do something, so please do, click on the following link and sponsor me, it is a fantastic cause the brilliant children's hospital in Sussex. They link even takes payment from non UK cards as well! So get clicking (if it doesnt work you can copy and paste the link in your address bar). Spring holiday hair cut!
Sammy boy's hair has got quite long and big recently sticking up in all sorts of places! Daddy, Nanny Maureen and Cala thought he should have it cut and he liked the sound of that but didnt want to go to the hairdressers.... so out came Daddy's clippers.
He was happy to have it done until the cut hair started to itch him so he had to be bribed with chocolate to sit still till I had finished. He loves his new hair and Daddy thinks he looks handsome, Daisy thinks he looks cool and Mummy thinks.... actually she prefered it when it was longer, still it can grow back.

The Little Fella's Easter Bonnet Parade
Today was Samuel's Easter Bonnet parade at playgroup, we were asked to arrive at 12.15pm and they entertained us with some singing with actions, then we all sat down for lunch before the big parade. Sam was so excited and kept asking when the 'barade' was going to start. Unfortuntely his hat wasnt a great fit so kept falling off which he wasnt too happy about but he managed to keep it all together for the parade and got his first chocolate egg for 2010 at the end! The last photo is of Sam and his best friend Zack.

The Little Lady's Easter Bonnet Parade
Sunday 29th March 2010
Today was a busy day spent in the kitchen... first it was strawberry pancakes for breakfast, then it was making cornflake cakes and cup cakes for the school cake sale tomorrow (Mon), whilst the little people and Daddy were at church I made a carrott soup and apple crumble and prepared a roast lamb dinner.
The little people came home and Daisy got ready for a party whilst Sam made his Easter Bonnet for his playgroup or 'work' as he likes to call it parade on Tuesday. Daisy returned from her party and then made her Easter Bonnet for her school parade.
I let the little people make their own hats with no help from me, although I did step in when Sam wanted to paint his black, explaining that black really isnt a colour for Easter. He did a great job and was very proud of himself.
Now I did want to take some pics of the lovely food I produced today, espically for Uncle Murphy to see but unfortunately I only remembered to take one of the cakes, sorry Murp!

They were home alone!
For the first time ever Mummy (as in me) went away without the little people and her man for four nights. Now I would love to say it was for a spa mini break or even a shopping trip but no it was work and boy did they get their monies worth as I worked my butt off. I was at a trade showing managing four stands for a client at the glam NEC in Birmingham from Saturday morning until last night. It was horrible being away from my family but it was nice to catch up with some old work colleagues. Tim also came up for a night for his work so at least we got to steal a dinner and night in a hotel at someone elses expense. My little lady was quite tearful when ever I called but my little fella was just excited to tell me he had built me a long track for when I got home.
A very big THANK YOU to Nanny Maureen and Grandad and Nanny Anne for helping us out whilst I was away. The little people had a great time and thought it was very exciting having you sleep over.
