6 years!

Today Daddy/Tim and I have been married six years and we celebrate our anniversary by Tim going away snowboarding.

Whilst washing up this evening I did wonder if it is actually today as we got married in Fiji and they are 12 hours ahead of us. After a quick calculation we did get married on the 13th in both Fiji and England, as the ceremony was around 6pm so it would have been around 6am in England.

We have done a lot in six years:

1. Sold two houses

2. Bought one house

3. Sold one car

4. Bought two cars

5. Had a daughter

6. Had a son

7. Moved to a new area

8. Started a freelance career

9. Finished off back packing

10. Had holidays in England, America, Spain, Canada, France, Switzerland, Portugal and Italy

Arnt mum's great!

Mum's love and care for their children unconditionally and sometimes they just know! They just know what you want or need, not sure how but they do.

Today my feet were like ice blocks during the school run and I was saying to one of my friends in the school playground that I must get some liners for my wellies (the snow was quite deep this morning so was wellie weather) but the shops had sold out. Samuel and I then went to the supermarket and they have a a MacDonalds there he really wanted 'fish & chips' i.e. fish finger happy meal but I said that we were having lunch at home.

We got back and Nanny Maureen said she would come over for a cuppa, anyway she turns up half an hour later and has a pair of wellie liners for me and a happy meal for Sam. She has never bought take aways with her, ever! How did she know, we didnt talk about them on the phone.

That's mum's for you!



















My danty feet are going to be nice and snug in these tomorrow morning! Althought I think I should give the wellies a bit of a clean.

And more snow falls overnight

This is how Daisy got to school this morning...

Our new toy arrived yesterday and I put it together much to the children's delight during breakfast. It was still snowing when we left for school so we took this, Daisy got out near school to walk with her friends and Ed got in. The boys loved being pulled along with the girls helping to push.

Round, round, round and round again!

Samuel loves his bike from Father Christmas. Unfortunately he cannot ride it ourside at the moment due to the snow and icey pavements so he has been riding it round and round and round the dining table in the kitchen!

Sunday lunch

Well the severe weather and more snow we were forecast thankfully didnt come during the night. The little people and I hung out at home this morning before we dropped Daisy off to go swimming with Nanny Maureen at her hotel. Sam and I tackled the snow and ventured out to the shops for Michaela's birthday present. It was then home to cook lunch as the Ireland's and Nanny Maureen were coming over for a birthday celebration.

Daisy and I had made chocolate lollipops last night which came out really well so we iced them and bagged them up this morning and they were used as name places. Daisy and I had also made a glitter M for the centre of the table in the week, it turned out lovely but I am sure the glitter is going to come off when you move it about.

We had roast lamb and then four courses of dessert... birthday cake, chocolate bites, apple crumble and then strawberrys dipped in chocolate - quite a feast!

After dinner Sammy boy put on his snow gear and went on the tramplin in the garden, he had a great time bouncing in the snow first with Aunty Jo, then me and then finally Uncle Murphy.

Daisy thinks the Ireland family should be called the Jo's really wild family!! Cos she thinks Aunty Jo is wild and so much fun.

It's here to stay...

Well our day started off early... 4am to be exact. We dropped Daddy off at the bus station so he could get the coach to the airport as he is going away for two weeks snowboarding. We did hope to take him to the airport ourselves but it snowed an inch whilst we were asleep and we didnt want to take the risk with the children in the car further up the motorway. After waving Daddy off the little people and I returned home and snuggled up in our bed and slept until 8.30am.

It had snowed some more whilst we were asleep, we hung out at home but we needed some supplies so headed off to the store taking it very slowly as the roads were covered in snow again and it was still coming down.

Uncle Murphy and Cala then came to pick us up in their 4x4 and we went up to theirs to build a snowman. Once we were all wrapped up warm (it was -3) we headed into the garden only to look at each other and say so 'How do you build a snowman.' I think Jo, Cala and I did quite a good job. Sam was well equipped for the snow as Nanny Maureen had bought him some snowboard pants. Daisy unfortunately is like me and doesnt really favour the cold.

Cala and Sam did angels in the snow. Sam loves the snow and after some warm coco him and Jo went for a walk whilst Uncle Murphy had a nap and Cala, Daisy and I chilled. After more tea and some crumpets Uncle Murphy gave us a lift home. The weather was closing in and the snow was coming down heavy. When is it ever going to stop?

When we got in we watched tv, made some chocolate lollies for Cala's birthday lunch tomorrow and spoke to Daddy on the phone, he has arrived safely and fitted in a day on the mountain. It is only day one of him being away and we all miss him so much.
