3 sleeps until Christmas Eve...

After a busy week and weekend and the fact it is freezing outside myself and the little people enjoyed a day at home today. We made cakes, watched tv, decluttered the toys ready for when Santa delivers more and in the afternoon Rachel came over with Libby and Will for a playdate and gossip. A really nice chilled out day.

Rocking around the Christmas tree...

This evening we went to Tim's church's Christmas carol service. It was my first time going to this church and I must say I was very impressed. Everybody was so welcoming, the choir were fantastic (music upbeat rather than traditional) and my little people felt really comfortable there. I am proud of Tim's belief and commitment he has in going every Sunday and taking the little people along to Sunday school.

The carol service was very upbeat with some fantastic singers. Daisy and Samuel were in a small nativity half way through, Sam a cow and Daisy an angel. They did a grand job considering they had only learnt the songs in the past couple of weeks. Sam was very entertaining and when they sang the last song he thought he would hold his dress up and dance his socks off, which he did to everyones amusement!

Afterwards there was some tasty Christmas treats to eat, the children got to visit Father Christmas (probably one of the best ones I have seen) and were entertained for half an hour by a children's entertainer - we had to drag them out at the end.

Nanny Maureen, Andy and Cala also came along with was nice as we wont see Cala over the hols as she is off to Germany to spend it with Jay.

Snow in Hove actually

The little people very so excited this morning when they woke up to inches of snow, so excited at 6.30am they wanted to go in the garden and build snowman! Thankfully we managed to persuade them to wait until at least 8.30am when we wrapped up super warm and walked down to the beach.

We got half way and the little fella was loving the snow, unfortunately the little lady was not!! Anyway we had a few snowfights and then made our way home. Daisy's school had been closed and Sam's playgroup was open but we decided to keep him home.

Dinah and her little people Pheobe and Charlie popped in and we hung out for a while. Tim went snowboarding with John whilst Dinah and I and our little people walked down to Sarah's (John's wife) to have a playdate and lunch with all the little people.

Daddy then went into work for the afternoon and we walked back home and hung out at home, eating pizza.

Let it snow let it snow let it snow

It's 1.21am on Friday morning and I have not long been in from a clients Christmas do. Why am I blogging at this time! Well during the evening we have what the weather men predicted... snow and lots of it, about 4inches already. The town came to halt about 11.30pm and the beach including the pebbles was covered in snow. One of the ladies I was out with very kindly gave me a lift home and what would normally take 10 minutes took 40 mins.

I arrived home to a very excited husband that was awake admiring the snow. Sammy boy woke up to tell me it had been snowing today, I said that I didnt believe him and to show me and we opened the blind and the image of his smile will stay with me for ever, he was so excited and went back to bed telling me he was going to build a snowman tomorrow.

Tim and I took great pleasure in watching the man over the road trying to put his car on his drive, 30mins later he was back where he started! I did think about going to help him but he was so silly at one point it was nearly going into a tree!

We drank hot choc and eat cookies Sam and I had baked last night. It was nice to be snug with just me and my man. Night!

Things that the little people love, say and do...

Life is very busy these days and seems to be going very quickly. So much happens and I find I forget the little things that my little people love to do, say, etc so thought I would take this time to jot a few down before I forget again:


Samuel

• Used to say Bluebell wailway but has now learnt to say railway


• He loves to cuddle, rub noses and loves having his back rubbed


• He screws up his face and brings both of his hands up to his up eyes with forefinger and thumb together to describe something small


• He calls Hot Chocolate coco and Uncle Murphy, Aunty Murphy


• He tells Daisy off saying 'Don't you ever, ever, ever do that again'


• He loves to eat houmous and drink Daddy's smoothies


• He points his finger in the air saying 'That's a good idea'


• He will jump in every puddle he sees


• He loves to ride his scooter and trys to hit every bump in the pavement as if it is a ramp (such his father's son)


• He is very thoughtful and caring


• His favourite people at the moment are, his Daddy, Grandad, Nanny Maureen and Aunty Jo


• He loves to wiggle his bottom and nod his head to music

Daisy

• She loves school and her friends


• She used to say commpoter but now says computer


• She doesnt like to take crisps for her packed lunch as Nancy isnt allowed them and it wouldnt be fair


• She always wears a vest day and night no matter how hot it is


• She love clothes and often says about mine 'I wish they did that in my size'


• She asked me if her vests will turn into bra's (I think I have blogged about this already)


• She loves to eat crusty bread, sausages and ham


• She panics when learning to swim but we are getting there


• She wants a desk, a flower that squirts water and a sellotape holder for Christmas


• Her favourite people at the moment are Nanny Maureen, Cala and her school friends


• She wishes she had black hair


• She is good at drawing


• Her first tooth fell out last month and another one is wobbly
