Valentine's Day in the Parker household!!

It was a usual Thursday in the Parker house, little people at nursery and big people at work. The only difference was it is Valetines Day - TIm and I decided not to enter into the commercial world of valentines this year and make our own cards, unfortunately neither of us had time so Tim treated me to...... him singing and dancing along to a song complete with microphone. It was very sweet and funny but in a lovely way. He then played romantic tunes on 'You Tube' whilst I sat beside him on the floor sorting all our house admin - how romantic are we!! The little people made some fantastic cards for us at nursery though.

Boy of many words

Our little fella is desperate to talk, he is really coming along with the following in his vocabulary: bye bye, more, milk, bird, boat, in there, Daisy, Grandad, Nanny, Mumma, dadda and ready! He understands most things we say now, if we say, breakfast, lunch or dinner he runs to his high chair waiting to be put in it and nanny anne asked him where his shoes were the other day and he pointed to them.

Today we went over to Eastbourne to look at the venue for Aunty Angela's and Alan's wedding which has been moved to April 2009. After looking at the venue we went for a picnic in the park and then feed the swans and ducks. At first there were only a couple of them and then within a few minutes of throwing bread they started coming from all directions, in the end we had about twenty of them following us around the lake. I found this pretty scary as I have a phobia of birds, so luckly Aunty Angela stepped in with feeding with Daisy as I do not want to pass my fear on to the little people.

Sunday
We walked to church and back along the beach this morning and then I tried out some Nigella Express receipes for lunch and Nanny Maureen and her friend Angie joined us. The rest of the afternoon was spent hanging out at home in the garden and getting some chores done.

Saturday
Daisy went off to disco dancing with Nanny Maureen which is one of her favourite things to do. We took Sam to Middle Farm, he loved the animals and kept chasing after the loose chickens, ducks trying to pick them up and when they were fenced in he was trying to climb the fence or stick his fingers in! He was espically taken with a cockral, everytime it cock'a'doo'a'dooed he would walk towards it trying to copy the noise. I think he also enjoyed having mummy and daddys attention all to himself. We then went to Nanny and Grandads for lunch before picking Daisy up and heading off to the pier - a treat that Daisy loves espically as we had noodles and hot sugary doughnuts to eat.

Wednesday

Not a very exciting day today other than Daisy had alot of her hair cut off and it makes a massive difference. We went up to see Emma in her new salon and Daisy loved sitting in the big girls chair having her hair cut. Sam has discoverd Thomas the Tank Engine and gets so excited when he sees him, he has one book and carrys it around all the time, I think I have read it about 15 times today. We brought him a little Thomas ride on which he loves although his feet do not quite reach the floor yet.

In the evening Laura (Daisy's playgroup leader) and Ollie came over for dinner which was fun, I made pancakes that Tim describe being a great filler for holes!! and then we went through the details of their wedding which I am helping them to plan.

Another beautiful sunny but chilly day

Sam was poorly again yesterday morning so it was off to the doctors and was told the usual to try and control his breathing and take him to the hospital if it gets worse. As it was such a sunny afternoon we all wrapped up warm and meet Vic, Callum and Charlotte at the park for playtime and then we all strolled along the beach to Morroco's for chips and ice cream (the Parker family seem to spend a lot of time at Morroco's)!

When we got back Sam was abit better but totally shattered, Daisy got to stay up a little later than ususal as I had some old work friends coming for suppa and she wanted to say hi.

End of an era!

Today the stair gates came down in the Parker household as Sam has become really confident on the stairs in the past few weeks. Obviously Tim, Daisy and I have been able to get through them but they were up to stop the little fella but now he is free to roam as he likes. He found it quite a novety as after we took them off we just found him sitting half way up smiling to himself and he was then up and down the stairs all afternoon.

The school we would like to send Daisy to is a church school and you have to have a meeting with the vicar, so we had ours with Father Jonathon this morning and it all went well. We will find out in May what school she gets as it is now down to the authorties. After the meeting it was a mad dash to get the applications in as the deadline is 3pm today.

Whilst the north of England is having weather warnings of fast winds, freezing temps and snow, us in the South enjoyed blue skys and sun this afternoon.

Wey Hay Daddy is home & 24th to 28th week wrap

Monday 28th - today was back to playgroup and thankfully Daisy had returned to her normal self so she went to ballet with Nanny Maureen this afternoon and was allowed to watch a little tv when she got home and the most exciting thing was story time with daddy which took a rather long 40 minutes as they were both having so much fun. Sam has been very clingy today so I have not got much done as most of the time has been spent cuddling him and playing with toy cars!

Sunday 27th - we named today chill out Sunday as this is what we have done all day. This morning I had the treat of a lay in and then went on my own to meet Ted for breakfast at the Metropole which was lovely (and I eat far too much), I then came home and off we went to church and Tim cooked lunch afterwards. The boys hung out at home whilst I took Daisy to her friend's Holly 4th birthday party and then Tim cooked a delicious dinner and we relaxed watching the 'Wedding Crashers' - very funny movie.

Saturday 26th - Cala and I set out early for some retail therapy in Brighton. I treated myself to a couple of things and also had to stock up on some clothes for Daisy as she has suddenly grown and some of her tops are like cropped tops on her these days. In the afternoon it was the 'Parker Ireland Car Wash' - three cars that were once dirty inside and out became sparkling clean (although Daddy's should have carried a health warning before cleaning). Cala did the washing, I did the interiors and Daisy did the wheels on all three cars which is impressive for a 3.5 year old. Although by wheel ten she said "I am fed up of doing all the wheels, I want to do windows next time!"

This evening we went out to dinner with Nanny Maureen, Aunty Jo, Uncle Murp, Aunty Deb, Keith and a very dear friend of my parents, Ted Andrews. It was a lovely to see Ted and my little two were perfectly behaved considering it was well past their bedtime. We left the restaurant about 8.45pm and went to pick Daddy up from the airport, Daisy was so excited and kept asking if she could run to him so I had to drive past him which left Tim looking confused so Daisy could get out and do the big dramatic run and welcome which I know both she and Tim love!!! Daddys and their little girls!!!

Friday 27th - It was lovely having Nanny to stay as I got a bit of a lie in and then we all walked to playgroup together. Unfortunately Daisy was not very well behaved at playgroup which is quite unusual for our little lady even her key worker said it was out of character for her. She was put on the naughty step and her reaction was ' Good, I need some piece and quiet from you lot!' Anyway due to her behavour she was not allowed to go to ballet, watch tv or have a bedtime story until she could prove that she could be good at playgroup, unfortuantely for her playgroup is two days away due to the weekend.

Thursday 26th - It was nursery for the little people and they were picked up by Nanny Maureen today as I had a big event which thankfully went really well but I did not get in until gone 2am so Nanny stayed over.
