Daisy and Sam had their christmas present from my friend Karen this morning. I gave it to them today as they will get quite abit on Christmas day and I want them to know who the presents are from. A big THANK YOU to Karen for the lovely presents, Sam loved his train and Daisy was desperate to get out her sticking scene but being the cruel mum I said she had to wait until we get back from playgroup!



This afternoon one of my clients tooks me out for a thank you lunch to 'Indian Summer' which was lovely and Daisy and Sam went off with Nanny Maureen to see Father Christmas at Brighton Marina. We then came home to another parcel this time from the lovely Sylvia in America, I have put the presents under the tree for Christmas day. A big THANK YOU to sylvia.

When I put the tree up Sam liked to pick off the baubles and try to eat them like an apple, anyway he has now got bored of that and now thinks it is really funny to grab a present, run really fast and hide and start opening it... thankfully I have caught him in time that he does not unwrap them but there are a few with some teeth and finger marks on now.

We were in Daisy's bedroom tonight getting ready for bed and I said to Sam to say goodnight and he went over to Daisy to give her a kiss and said very clearly 'Bye Bye' whilst waving at the same time - he is such a clever boy. He is starting to show his personality now and has a fantastic sense of humour, he really is a joy to have around along with my lovely Daisy 'pops'.

The best guests bring magazines!

Today was a normal Thursday for the Parker family, regular readers will know it is nursery for little people and work for the big people, although one of the big people is currently off snowboarding at the moment and Daisy, Sam and I miss him terribly and we are really looking forward to him coming home.

Tonight I had some old trollops over for dinner going by the names of Julie and Karen. They arent really but I knew they would be reading this. I met them many moons ago whilst working for the lovely Nynex which is now Virgin Media (after many name changes). Anyway we have kept in touch over the years and see each other every few months for a gossip and a bit to eat (Karen does the best Jacket Pots ever - you so know you do). I have a beautiful pic of them both that I will post tomorrow. Thank you Karen for Daisy and Sam's christmas present and also for my magazines (thats the only reason I invite her as she bring magazines! - only joking).

Christmas has arrived at the Parker's

Well done Selfridges! Daisy, Sam, Aunty Angela and I went up to London today to see Father Christmas and the lights. We had a fantastic time, we started off by going to see Father Christmas at Selfridges which was so well done, we had booked in advance so there was no waiting around. The grotto was lovely and we went on a train ride before arriving at Father Christmas's house. For the first time ever Daisy got up close with Father Christmas and shook his hand and gave him a high five, unfortunately the digi camera was too slow to catch the moment.

After Father Christmas we ventured down Oxford Street looking at all the lovely lights and decorations, after a quick visit to the big Disney Store we went to Hamleys where Sam loved the cuddly toys before finishing off at Planet Hollywood for dinner where Sam made the big screen with his dancing. Weknew that nanny Maureen might be in London shopping but we did not expect to bump into her in the Lip Gloss Shop which Daisy calls the make up department of Selfridges.

Tuesday 11th December 2007

The day started with a beautiful sunrise (taken from Sam's bedrom)

After days of Daisy asking why she doesnt have a Christmas tree and when are we getting one. Sammy boy and I went shopping for one this morning. Pic below of bringing the Parker family Christmas tree home.

As it was such a lovely sunny (but cold) day we spent some time in the garden playing and tidying the leaves away.

Unfortunately we had left it rather late to get our tree so we did not get much choice, actually after going to two places that had sold out this was the last one at the third place we tried. It is very even but not very fat! I decorated it whilst Daisy was at playgroup and she walked in with her eyes closed and being the drama queen she is, she opened her eyes, put her hand to her mouth and said "Oh my goodness, it is fantastic." Going to be an interesting time as Sam has really taken a liking to picking the boubles off and trying to eat them!

P.S. Daddy has left us this morning till Sunday to go snowboarding!!!!!!!!!!

Nanny Maureen's Christmas Village

Today we went to the supermarket with Nanny Maureen so she could purchase her Christmas supplies. We then went back to her place to admire the tree and Christmas village. Sam could not believe his eyes when he went in, thankfully he did not head straight for the tree to pull it down but was attached to the christmas tree on Nanny's mantalpiece that when you clap it has doors that open and sings Christmas songs. Both Sam and Daisy loved it and spent ages dancing and clapping in front of it.

Junk food and Ice Queens

Daddy is still recovering from being unwell, so we had a lazy morning. Late morning Daisy and Daddy went off to church whilst Sam slept and I caught up with some house work. We had plans to go to see Aunty Angela in Eastbourne so as we were late setting off we stopped off at the Burger King drive through for some lunch.

We arrived at Angela and Alan's new flat mid afternoon and soon realised that if we did not leave quite quickly Sam was going to rearrange most of Angela's flat and probably eat the cat food from the bowls so we headed into the centre for a walk around. Daddy was feeling unwell so we left him to Waterstones and Costa Coffee for a few hours. Daisy got to go on the round about and we saw the Ice queen (which was actually spooky looking) before heading off to Pizza Express for a feast with Angela and her brother David. On the way home Daisy and I were pointing out the christmas lights but then she was asleep within five minutes of being in the car!!

Naughty toes, good toes and Father Christmas

We had a busy day today! Daddy had the day off work so he and Sam went and fixed my car tyre (that Daddy had busted on Tuesday) whilst Daisy and I headed to playgroup to finish setting up the Christmas Fair. The fair started at 11am (I organised it along with some of the other mum's), there was lots to see and do, Nanny Maureen popped in and worked for an hour manning Santa's Grotto and we raised a staggering £576 which we will spend on new equipment.

Then it was back home to chill for an hour before Daisy's ballet lesson and as it was the end of term, Mummy and Nanny Maureen got to watch the lesson as normally no parents are allowed to watch. In the evening Nanny Maureen came for a sleepover as Daddy was going to his work Christmas party with his best friend Justin and Mummy was going out to dinner with Martine and her friends.
