Ummm interesting week!

Firstly I must apologise to our house guest Sylvia, day three of her visit and this is what my kitchen sink looks like and I cannot even begin to describe the amount of dust that has travelled through the house...

Not only that but she is fitting in between school runs, swimming lessons, dance lessons, party planning. Thankfully she wasnt too shy with a j-cloth and was a godsend in helping clear up this mess and helping to make dinner.

It's been a crazy week with work, little people and building work - one I do not want to repeat too soon!

First dance competition

Daisy competed in her first dance competition today at Worthing, it was a large comp (as they are called) and in her solo dance there were 26 beginners taking part, Daisy got called back 3 times and then came 5th in the top 6 and got a trophy. Not only did she do so well in her solo but her performance in the under 12's team dance won them first place. Comps take place once a month all over the country so we are going to have to think about if we are going to be doing this all the time, unfortunately we cannot do the next one as it is Samuel's birthday party that day.

Whilst we were at the comp, Daddy and Samuel went up to Heathrow to collect our good family friend Sylvia who had come over for a visit from the US. Our day was finished with a lovely cooked roast dinner by Nanny Maureen.

"What am I doing today mum"

This was the first thing Samuel said to me this morning! I was thinking but you started school yesterday surely you know what you are doing it today. I replied "Going to school" his reply "Really, cool, shall I put my socks on" - did he really think school was a one day deal?

Samuel's first day at school

Our handsome little fella started his very first day at school today. He was super excited and up, dressed and ready by 7.30am and asking every few minutes when we were leaving! It was also all about the book bag, he would not let this out of his site and had to wear it over his shoulder at all times.

We took Daisy to school and then we parked back at home and walked to Samuel's school, he was starting at 9.30am so we had a bit more time this morning.


He walked straight into the class with no worries, we found his peg and where he puts his stuff and he kissed me goodbye and went off to play on the computer with Macy. Hold on a minute it wasnt meant to be this easy I would have appricated some leg clinging, don't go mummy moments but no he was very happy to be there.

I picked him up at 3pm and he had had a great day, he told me he learnt to write his name, loked around the school and you would not believe it but had lunch in the big hall.

One little fella very impressed with his first day of school, lets hope it lasts!

Lost my blogging mojo

Although I have just spent the last hour updating the blog I must admit I just havent had the energy or passion to update the blog recently - I have lost my blogging mojo!

Do I continue to update on the little people now they are at school or do I feature more of my life with the ups and downs of a working mum... really not sure at the moment.

Also does anyone know of where I can get this blog turned into a book, not a published to sell book but so that the children have a hard copy.

Daisy's first day at her new Junior school

Today was the little lady's first day at Junior School and also her first day at her new school. She had mixed emotions as she was going to a school where none of her friends were going on to. When we walked into the class room she was a little shy at first but knowing out little social butterfly as we do she was fine and when I picked up her at 3.20pm and asked her how her first day was her reply was:

"Mum, I love it" - that's a great start, long may it continue hopefully until she leaves university!
