Happy Birthday to our lovely niece Cala Wala Woo Woo.
Our day didnt plan out as I thought, we woke up to blue skys and sun so I thought we would:
Head out after breakfast for a lovely long walk in the forest, stop for hot chocolate, capture lots of lovely photos, go home for lunch and then watch a movie before taking Daisy to a party and Sam to the park and then coming home for bath and bed time.
What really happened:
We didnt end up leaving the house till gone 12 as we were all too lazy, we got to the forest and Sam declared it boring as it had no park, I had my new black boots on which was totally the wrong footwear and they got covered in mud. We went to take a photo and realised the memory card was still in the computer back home along with our flask of hot chocolate that we left on the kitchen side. We started our walk and Sam nearly got knocked over by a dog charging past him and then coming back for a sniff, with Sam very upset we decided to return to the car and head home - first we had to get all the mud off though! Got home realised we didnt have bread, etc for packed lunches the next day so dropped Daisy off at her party and they asked us to be their early as they were doing fireworks and they wanted the parents back with their children so Sam and I just had time to nip to the store where he was panicing as they kept saying it was closing and he thought we would get locked in. We picked up Daisy and returned home where the little people bickered until bedtime.... happy days NOT!
Funny how some days just dont turn out like you planned!

Daddy goes snowboarding & Cala's b-day dinner
Daddy left for France bright and early this morning for two weeks of snowboarding so the little people and I are home alone. We had a busy day planned as Daisy had dancing this morning and Sam and I had to shop for supplies for Cala's birthday dinner this evening, I also had to fit in abit of admin for some corporate work.
It was a mad rush to get the table set and everything ready before our guests arrived. Tonights feast was American: ribs, chicken, homemade coleslaw, fries, corn and onion rings. Sam had made the marinade for the ribs and chicken yesterday and they have been sitting in our fridge getting nice and tasty. Everybody had to wear something red and Sam chose to dress up as Father Christmas.
Our guests arrived and first up was present opening, after a little entertainment from the little people dinner was served. Cala had alway like the way Simon Cowell had his face on the plates at his birthday party... so if Simon Cowell has it then Cala can have it, no expense spared!
After our feast there was cracker pulling, balloon modelling, joke telling, balloon fighting - Aunty Jo is to blame for that one! Finally the little people were put to bed just after 10pm and the last guest left just before midnight. Happy days.

Off to see the Mayor
Daisy bought home two letters from school today:
1. To complete a form to give her permission to go to tea with the Mayor of Brighton & Hove as she is a member of the school council, all of the school council (15 children) will be going along on the 21st January.
2. As she is a child that empathises with other children she has been chosen to learn how to be a playground buddy! A buddy is a child who helps the playground feel safer for everybody. They will help to do this by playing games, taking children who have been hurt to a first aider and talking to children who might be feeling lonely or upset. Once training has been completed she will have a playground buddy cap to wear! - If anything like her mother she will have that playground organised in no time.

The latest song Sam is singing...
"Who let the dogs out... me me me me"
He has always been quite a tough little boy and Daisy was the one that would get scared at the slightest thing but Sam has been watching Scooby Doo recently and although he seems to find it funny we have had to stop him watching it as I think it has scared him. He is now scared to go to bed on his own because of the witches, trap doors and booby traps!
Loving his routine at the moment he comes into our bed for a cuddle about 6am and he is like a little hot water bottle and goes back to sleep giving me lots of cuddles until 8ish. Pure mummy bliss.
